Martha Lake Town Center

This project is currently in process. It is a seven-acre site located within the Snohomish County Urban Center overlay district. The site presented the design challenges of creating a true urban center, while addressing the surrounding conditions. To the north of the site is a very busy seven-lane arterial street; while to the south of the site is a low-density residential neighborhood. The design solution was to create a lower density townhouse style neighborhood on the southern portion of the site, while designing a high-density mixed use development on the north end of the site. The two neighborhoods are tied together with a trail and courtyard system creating a transition from the busy road through high intensity, medium density intensity, and on to the existing low density neighborhood.
